Japanese classic/contemporary Music, Dance, Theater & Image-art Show
Japone Artists is a group of Japanese artists consisting of musicians, dancers and a visual artist based in The Netherlands, Germany and Japan. Since the formation in 2016, Japone Artists performed a blend of Japanese traditional and contemporary arts on the international stage. The theatrical shows /concerts that Japone Artists present contain *music, modern and Japanese traditional dance, theater and screen image-animation with many elements of beauty, drama, humor, colors and original stories.
These unique shows/concerts invite people an extraordinary world and make an impression with Japanese beauty and spirits through a refined high qualified performance.
Since starting activities in 2016, the group has been performing on many occasions and events with a focus on Japanese culture in The Netherlands, such as AbunaiCon, AnimeCon, Made in Asia, Camera Japan festival and Japan Festival etc.
Japone Artists also went abroad by joining the online edition of HYPER JAPAN Festival in London 2021, in July 2022 we did a live performance at HYPER JAPAN and in December 2022 in Tokyo, Japan.
These performances were highly acclaimed and Japone Artists received numerous positive reactions from all ages including well-known artists, authors and film maker.

Utako Arakawa
Vocals / Soprano/Actress
Utako is soprano singer who trained as an opera singer. She has wide repertoire not only European classic music but also anime songs and Japanese traditional songs. In the Japone shows she performs Geisha/Madam Butterfly roles.

Ayumi Matsuda
Recorder/Composer
Ayumi is recorder player who plays many different sizes of recorders. She composes original music for Japone. In the Japone shows she plays with unlimited variety of music including ancient Japanese music and pop, Rap-music, etc.

SHINRYU
Stage adviser/Japanese traditional dance & sword fighting/Actor
Shinnosuke performance is based on Japanese traditions of Japanese dance and authentic sword fighting with his unique skillful expressions and modern interpretations. In the Japone show in 2017 he directed the stage and performed Samurai/ Kitsune-Spirit roles

Seiya Kudo
Drums/Percussion
Seiya is a drummer and percussionist who plays a wide variety of genres based on classic percussion. In December 2022 he joined the Japone show " Live in Tokyo"and since January 2023 he is a member of Japone Artists.

Noriko Amano
Keyboard
Noriko is originally harpsichord player who plays normally old European music (15 to mid 18 century). In the Japone shows she plays keyboard with a wide variety of styles and sometimes plays other instruments sounds like Japanese drums too.

Kazuma Glen Motomura
Dancer/Actor/Martial Artist/Choreographer
Kazuma is dancer who has wide range of dance styles and acts with his amazing improvisation . In the Japone shows he performs the role of Pinkerton, an American navy officer who has both comical and serious character. Also he expresses a message with his poetry clip & dance performance (Body poet).

Yusuke Morita
Bass/Composer
Yusuke is a bass player and a composer who has a unique technique inspired by European Jazz, electronic music and also Flamenco. Yusuke is a registered artist of the bass guitar brand “Adamovic basses” from Haarlem, the Netherlands. Since May 2021, he is a member of Japone.

Yoshimi is a pianist and composer. She plays a mixture of classical and contemporary music and is outstanding at improvising while playing. Since August 2020, she is a member of Japone.

Hiromi is Illustrator & Animator. In the Japone shows she creates background images with animation, and she assists the lighting operator too. Additionally, she performs a female-ninja (Kunoichi) role on the stage!

Koto

Makiko was a remarkable Koto player who performed both traditional and contemporary music, 17-string bass koto and 21-string koto. In the Japone shows, she played a variety of music including her improvisation and she sang Japanese old songs with koto too.
